Cranberry Ginger Martini

martiniI don’t even know how it happened. After arriving at my parent’s house, talk about the turkey day meal soon ensued. We talked turkey, we talked stuffing, we talked pie. And, by the end of it, my dad and I were somehow responsible for the turkey, the stuffing, and the gravy. I mean, I didn’t have to plan or buy anything, but still, the responsibility!!! Those are by far the most high-pressure dishes on the menu! I won’t bore you with the outcome except to say that it was fun to cook with my dad, and though everything was tasty, we did have a minor fail and slightly overcook the bird. Still, I don’t think it stopped anyone from having multiple servings. Whew!

After the cooking and the eating (and all that pressure!), all I wanted to do was relax and have a yummy drink. So, I was sure glad I planned ahead to make this cocktail. It will even right the wrong of an overcooked turkey. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving!

Cranberry Ginger Martini
Serves 2

Ingredients
  1. 2 cups cranberry juice
  2. 4 ounces gin
  3. Fresh lime juice from one lime
  4. 6-7 thin slices of ginger
Instructions
  1. Combine all in a shaker with ice. Shake and serve.
Notes
  1. I've used pomegranate and cranberry/pomegranate juice in this. You can also make a big batch of these ahead of time (pre-shaker and ice) and put in the fridge. This allows the ginger flavor to develop a little more. Enjoy!
